Our love of Vinted!!



I have written blogs about side hustles and my love of carboots – with the windy and wet weather unfortunately the carboots are not on so we turn to our second love Vinted.  

 

It is fair to say Vinted has gained so much popularity for selling second hand things and it is easy to see why it is so popular – its so easy and its free. It has become so popular it has clearly been the driving force between eBay changing its fee structure and not charging for selling second hand clothes.  

 

As we get closer to Christmas and with energy prices going up when we start turning our heating on things do become tighter things like Vinted are worth the 5 mins that it takes to upload and then send.  


Nicola proved it this week when her husband handed her 4 items to get rid of – she put them on Vinted straightaway and by the morning they had sold. Then she took them to our local store while we were on a walk anyway and hey presto – she said that’s £12 I didn’t have before.  £12 for 5 mins of effort – if you extrapolate to an hour that's the equivalent to £144 an hour. How many people earn that?

I believe more people are turning to Vinted and are not worried about buying second hand items for presents now which I think is fabulous, so its a perfect time to start.  

 

Here are our top tips.  


1.Present Your Items Well

  • Be Honest About Condition: Clearly show and mention any flaws to build trust with buyers.

  • Use Keywords: Mention trends or popular styles (e.g., "oversized blazer," "Y2K top").

  • Use the Bundle Discount feature to encourage multiple-item purchases. 

  • Consider accepting reasonable offers to move items quickly. 



4. Promote Your Items 

  • Share your listings within Vinted to keep them visible. 

  • Use seasonal trends to your advantage (e.g., winter coats in October or party dresses in December). 



5. Ship Efficiently 

  • Use Vinted's pre-paid shipping labels for convenience. 

  • Pack items securely to ensure they arrive in great condition. 



6. Communicate with Buyers 

  • Respond to questions promptly and politely. 

  • Keep buyers updated on shipping status. 



7. Stay Active 

  • Regularly upload new items to keep your profile fresh and attract repeat buyers. 

  • Update older listings to bring them back into the spotlight. 



8. Build a Good Reputation 

  • Be honest and reliable to earn positive reviews. 

  • Deliver items quickly and as described.
