Side Hustles and Christmas
This week I am feeling very happy that I had my Christmas pots from side hustles. I was feeling a bit short at the end of the month and I remembered that I had done some Christmas shopping for my girls and hadn’t used my pot – so I was very pleased to transfer the money from my rewards bank account which I view as free money – back into my bank account. Result!!
Then I had my nephews birthday (not techinically Christmas but never mind), so I used my Everup cashback money and bought him a gift card with it and still earned more cashback.
Also this week Nicola and I sold some free furniture we were given for £60 so that was £30 towards Christmas.
We also did probably our last Carboot of the year and both got £50 profit each.
Now neither of us are busy doing side hustles all the time as we both work full time and have extremely busy lives with our young children but we do bits and every little helps.
My faves are;
· Everup - I am a massive fan of everup and if I am going to Aldi always get a voucher first and get the free coins. That has got me about £50 of free cash and takes two mins before I go to the sho[
· Waitrose credit card – I have saved all my vouchers this year and will be using them for my mum and dads presents – 1 will be a hamper of waitrose bits of nice things they buy on special occasions.
· Carboot – I love a carboot as my previous blogs have shown – a few hours work, you get a clear out and get some money all at once. Whats not to love. (Apart from emptying the car afterwards with what you don’t sell)
· Roundups from the bank
· Vinted – we do this every now and then when we feel we have a bit of time.
There are some people on social media that make it look easy but spend hours hunting coupons etc – that is not us.
Here are our top tips for busy people;
· Every little helps – don’t try and do too much – anything you do is worth it
· Just do what you like and find enjoyable – for me spinning the wheel on everup and doing a carboot is enjoyable
· Find things that take no effort at all and just grow – like my waitrose credit card or the roundups or reward points. Other ideas are Cheddar where the cashback just adds up when you spend without even knowing.
· Have a pot to collect any spare change lying around – collect it through the year 0 might end up with enough for a coffee for the whole family on Christmas Eve. That’s my plan.
I will do the same next year – I haven’t had a totally ‘free’ Christmas like I had wanted but what I have done has saved some stress.
Have a great week
